How Do Dehumidification Systems Work?
-
Often the concept of dehumidification is confused with heating.
When heating a reduction of the relative humidity will be achieved, as the air will be able to hold more water before saturation – but no water is removed. By dehumidification the actual water content is reduced.
Dehumidification is used to control moisture in the air to prevent condensation, media clumping, and surface contamination like erosion. Moisture can cause abrasive to stick together, clog hoses, and interfere with consistent blasting performance, while also increasing the risk of flash rust on freshly blasted surfaces.
Applications for dehumidifiers can generally be divided into three categories:· Surface treatment - Blasting and painting
· Preservation of product
· Construction drying
We offer our ZAM adsorption dehumidifiers that works in a continuous process with two air streams, process air and regeneration air.
The process air stream is dried in the rotor and that process increases temperature by approximately 20°C.
The regeneration air stream is heated in an electrical heating battery to over 100°C, before it passes through the rotor, and thereby removes moisture from the metal silicate rotor.
